Parsons Honors Sustainable Design

Parsons The New School for Design in New York has launched a new student-led awards program honoring sustainable design, the Sustainable Design Review. This year, the winning project is a nature-inspired subway design and the runner up is a design for eco-friendly food vendor carts.
Her concept uses sunlight capture devices and fiber optics cables to channel
sunlight into the enclosed corridors of the subway.

Hip Greenly-Designed Nightclub

Designed by Berlin-based urban design agency ModulorBeat and light artist Andreas Barthelmes.
Built from stacked & reused water tanks, lighting in each cube is controlled separately, which makes for a spectacular backdrop that pulses to a DJ's beats.

A very hip, greenly-designed nightclub currently located in Barcelona;
Kubik is a temporary open-air installation linking architecture, light and music with a contemporary air of reclaimed material usage. A radically different nightclub, the space is open to the sky and besides the sea.

Zaha Hadid, the Iraqi Pritzker Prize winning architect,
is set to design Melbourne’s, and Australia’s, greenest and probably
most expensive commercial and housing complex.



Australia’s greenest and healthiest purpose built office building, Council House 2 (CH2).
This United Nations award-winning building will set a new world standard for sustainable
design and construction.


The CH2 project is the first purpose built office building in Australia to achieve the six Green Star certified rating, where the minimum rating is one star and maximum is six. This achievement is also significant as the design for the project started prior to the launch of the Green Star Rating System and Green Star – Office Design.
